Terms: Downloads and Creative Commons Licenses

You can download all my photos for free and use them under one of the following Creative Commons Licenses.
To download click a thumbnail and click the download button (arrow) in the top right corner of the Picture Page.

Creative Commons License:
Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0)

Most of my photos are licensed under the Creative Commons License: Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0). This means you are free to:

• Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
• Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material

Under the following terms:

• Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
• ShareAlike — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.

No additional restrictions — You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

(CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) / Editorial only

In some of my photos there is a factor that limits it's commercial copyright use, which is why they are instead cleared for use in news media and for other non-commercial purposes. They are marked as "editorial use only". The following characteristics might qualify a photo as editorial:

• It portrays a person without a consent form. If an image was taken in a city street, it will likely include people. In this case I don't have a signed consent form from each of them. This image can't be used for commercial purposes.
• It portrays a celebrity.
• It shows a trademarked logo or service mark.
• It shows something else that is trademarked. Many buildings, venues, and locations are trademarked.
• It was taken on private or trademarked property.

These photos are licensed under the Creative Commons License: Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). This means you are free to:
